Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these air fryer falafel are a healthier twist on the traditional deep-fried version.

Ingredients
- 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 1 small onion, roughly chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare Mixture: Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas, then blend them with onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a food processor until a coarse paste forms.
- Shape Falafel: Transfer the mixture to a bowl, stir in flour, and form into small balls or patties using your hands.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and preheat for 3 minutes.
- Cook Falafel: Lightly brush each falafel with olive oil, place them in the air fryer basket, and cook for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Check Doneness: Ensure falafel are crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
- Serve: Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce or in a pita with vegetables.
