Servings: 4

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled if desired
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika or chili powder for heat

Instructions

  1. Cut the fries: Slice sweet potatoes into even fry-shaped sticks about 1/4–1/2 inch thick.
  2. Season: In a large bowl, toss sweet potato fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and optional smoked paprika or chili powder.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Arrange in basket: Place fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding).
  5. Air fry: Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until fries are crisp on the edges and tender in the center.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with ketchup, garlic aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket or the fries will steam instead of crisp.
  • For extra crispiness, soak cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes, then dry thoroughly before seasoning.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste with more salt or a touch of brown sugar for sweetness.
